If you live in New York City and you like to eat, you’ve seen Daniel Krieger’s photos. If you don’t live in New York City and you like to eat, you’ve seen Daniel Krieger’s photos.
Seemingly omnipresent—in food magazines, web publications and on Instagram, of course—Krieger appears to be at multiple restaurants, bars and weddings all at the same time. If we didn’t know better, we’d think he was using Hermione Granger’s time turner to get around. In reality, Krieger knows how to hustle, and it’s clear he loves what he does. He’s become a champion for his field giving love to fellow picture-makers with his #LunchWithAPhotographer series, which has included everyone from @jethromullen of CNN to @kat_in_nyc of Instagram fame.
When he’s not shooting for the New York Times, Food & Wine, Eater.com or PUNCH, he’s probably at tiki night in a Brooklyn bar, photographing a wedding in China or having lunch with his grandmother. But he could just as well be eating langoustines with Brooklyn Brewery’s Garrett Oliver in France or hanging out with his glamorous food writer girlfriend Jordana Rothman at Eleven Madison Park. He recently published his first book, The Old-Fashioned, with Robert Simonson, and is shooting bar owner Julie Reiner’s forthcoming cocktail book.
This week we found him drinking cocktails at Bar Primi, taking photographs at the new NoMad bar and drinking bourbon at home.
