Watch a Professional Bodybuilder Make a Cocktail

Welcome to "People Making Drinks," a PUNCH original video series wherein real humans show you how to make cocktails. This week: Eugene Mishin, professional bodybuilder.

In the first installation of “People Making Drinks” Eugene Mishin, a professional bodybuilder from Russia, makes a classic Charles H. Baker cocktail, the Mexican Firing Squad.

One of the many cocktails documented by Baker, a world traveler, cocktail writer and historian, the Firing Squad is recorded in his Gentleman’s Companion, Volume II: Jigger, Beaker and Flask, as having been discovered at the La Cucaracha Bar in Mexico City in 1937. A dry, tequila-based formula, the Firing Squad is almost a rickey with the addition of grenadine to sweeten lightly and create the drink’s signature fuchsia hue with the help of a few dashes of Angostura bitters. Some modern versions include the addition of soda to create a longer, cooling cocktail. This recipe sticks to the basics.

Next week, this time, tune into see a NYC drag queen make a Mint Julep. Until then, muscles. Lots of muscles.
