Marijuana May Prevent Liver Disease

It’s true. Smoking weed while drinking may be the answer to liver disease prevention. High Times reports that a recent study by Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York revealed that cannabidiol (CBD), “the non-psychoactive compound in marijuana” has the ability to shield the liver from fatty buildup caused by binge drinking. The implications for treating liver disease and alcohol-induced brain damage are positive: “Researchers say this study could function as a blueprint for the development of medicine to prevent liver disease.” Though it’s no excuse to run out and paint the town red every evening (there’s no evidence CBD actually reverses liver damage),  the study certainly supports the case for the recent loosening of marijuana laws across the United States.
