Aperol Spritz

Afternoon or aperitivo hour, the Aperol spritz is always right.

Aperol, the classic Italian ingredient from Padua, provides the lightly bitter base for this afternoon cooler. Proportions are flexible, but both a hefty dose of the sunset-colored, bitter orange and gentian-flavored aperitif and a base of dry prosecco are the drink’s constants.


Serving: 1

  • 2 ounces Aperol
  • 3 ounces sparkling wine (preferably dry prosecco)
  • 1 ounce soda water

Garnish: orange or lemon wheel (or both)

  1. Add Aperol and sparkling wine to a Collins or wine glass.
  2. Add ice and stir.
  3. Top with soda water and garnish with an orange or lemon wheel (or both).
