el duque cocktail recipe daniel krieger

Taking the classic template of the Manhattan, the bar team at The Freehand Hotel on Miami Beach substitutes rum for bourbon and sherry for sweet vermouth. They then add a bit of cold brew coffee and chocolate bitters for complexity creating a postprandial digestif with a kick—just in case you want to hit the club when you’re finished.

Serving: 1

  • 2 ounces aged rum, Atlantico Reserva
  • 1 ounce sherry
  • 1/2 ounce cold brew coffee
  • 3 dashes chocolate bitters

Garnish: lemon peel

  1. Add all ingredients to a mixing glass.
  2. Add ice and stir until chilled.
  3. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass and garnish with a lemon peel.
