Benedictine Cocktail Recipe

Created by Nate Dumas at PDT, the Montgomery Smith is a favorite drink of bartender Damon Boelte who cites it as a particularly great use of Bénédictine liqueur. “It’s a really smooth, well-balanced cocktail,” Boelte explains. “It’s so simple…it’s truly a modern classic.”

Ingredients

Serving: 1

  • 2 ounces Cognac
  • 2 ounces Cognac
  • 1/2 ounce Bénédictine
  • 1/2 ounce Bénédictine
  • 1/4 ounce Fernet-Branca
  • 1/4 ounce Fernet-Branca

Garnish: lemon twist

Directions
  1. Combine all ingredients in a mixing glass over ice and stir until chilled.
  2. Strain into a chilled coupe or cocktail glass.
  3. Garnish with a lemon twist.
