When faced with the task of choosing his desert island drink, Trick Dog‘s Morgan Schick takes a practical approach, building his “Wilson” directly in a coconut. With coconut water, gin, lime and soda water, this tropical refresher is designed to ease the spirits of the lone castaway.

Ingredients

Serving: 1

  • 2 ounces gin
  • 2 ounces gin
  • 2 ounces coconut water
  • 2 ounces coconut water
  • 3/4 ounce lime juice
  • 3/4 ounce lime juice
  • 1/2 ounce Amaro Montenegro
  • 1/2 ounce Amaro Montenegro
  • 1/2 ounce mace syrup (see Editor's Note)
  • 1/2 ounce mace syrup (see Editor's Note)
  • 2 ounces soda water
  • 2 ounces soda water

Directions
  1. Combine all ingredients in a coconut, a mug or a rocks glass and and stir to combine.
  2. Fill the glass with ice and serve.
Editor's Note

Mace Syrup:
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
1 teaspoon ground mace

Combine ingredients in a saucepan set over low heat and stir to dissolve the sugar. Set aside to cool, then strain.
