Red Hook

Enzo Errico, Milk & Honey | New York City

red hook cocktail milk & honey

This boozy cross between the Brooklyn and the Manhattan is the handiwork of former Milk & Honey bartender Enzo Errico. The drink builds on the Manhattan and Brooklyn’s classic whiskey base and doses it with the subtly bitter Italian vermouth, Punt e Mes, and sweetens it up with the addition of maraschino liqueur. While there a number of modern drinks that have played off the classic compositions of both the Manhattan and the Brooklyn, Errico’s is one of the more enduring modern riffs.

Serving: 1

  • 2 ounces rye whiskey
  • 1/2 ounce sweet vermouth, Punt e Mes
  • 1/4 - 1/2 ounce maraschino liqueur, to taste

  1. Add all ingredients to a mixing glass.
  2. Add ice, and stir.
  3. Strain into a coupe glass.
  • Regan Cannon

    Isn’t Punt e Mes Italian?
