About Cosmos for a Cause
Cosmos for a Cause is a charitable program created by Cointreau that encourages consumers to celebrate the holiday season through cocktails while giving back to their local bar & restaurant communities. This year, Cointreau will continue to support the recovering bar & restaurant community by partnering with the Independent Restaurant Coalition (IRC).
From October 15th through December 31st, Cointreau will donate a portion of sales up to $100,000 to the IRC for every order of a Cosmopolitan cocktail at participating restaurants and bars and for every Instagram post tagging both #CosmosForACause and @cointreau_us.
To participate, you must register your bar or restaurant by September 17th. To support accounts that are listing the cocktail on their menu, Cointreau will host a Cosmopolitan Heat Map on www.cointreaucosmosforacause.com, highlighting participating restaurants and bars.

About the Independent Restaurant Coalition (IRC)
The restaurant and bar community formed the Independent Restaurant Coalition (IRC) to save the independent restaurants and bars and the 11 million people we employ — and the 5 million workers up and down the food supply and chain — who are affected by COVID-19. The IRC was founded on the simple belief that our small businesses have the power to affect legislative change if we unite our voices.
Our mission is to provide a strong, unified voice on legislative, regulatory, and policy issues that affect the restaurant industry; and provide advocacy, advice, networking and information to their members. To learn more, please visit saverestaurants.com.
The Classic Cosmopolitan Recipe
1 oz Cointreau
2 oz Vodka
1 oz Cranberry Juice
1 oz Fresh Lime Juice
Combine the ingredients in a cocktail shaker, add ice and shake until well-chilled.
Strain into a chilled coupe or cocktail glass and garnish with an orange twist.
Cointreau is the iconic orange liqueur at the heart of more than 500 of the world’s most celebrated cocktails, including The Original Margarita, The Cosmopolitan, and The Sidecar.
The House of Cointreau was founded in 1849 in Angers, France, where Edouard Cointreau perfected the recipe. Blended with sweet and bitter orange peels, Cointreau has a unique, balanced flavor beloved by mixologists and bartenders worldwide.
