Gold-infused Baijiu May Be the Next Goldwasser

Gold-infused baijiu may be on its way to becoming a thing. According to the International Business Times, the National Health and Family Planning Commission has started seeking public and professional opinions on whether small amounts of the metal should be allowed to be added into alcohol. Many see this as a potential answer to falling prices on baijiu, which generally sells in the dozens of yuan. By comparison, a non-approved baijiu called the Gold Leaf Spirit was priced at a whopping $3,999 yuan ($640 U.S.) when it was sold at a museum in Nanjing. Look out Goldwasser. [IB Times] [Photo: Flickr/arenamontanus]
