Is Flavored Vodka Finally Over?

It appears as if flavored vodka has begun to lose market share to other flavored spirits. We blame the smoked maple and honey-infused bourbons. According to The Spirits Business, data shows that since its peak in the third quarter of 2012, flavored vodka has lost 1% of its 8.7% market share. A few brands and flavors (Grey Goose Cherry Noir and Smirnoff Cranberry) continue to grow but the rapid rise of the crazier flavors (bacon, marshmallow and cake, among them) has been followed by a quick decline. But don’t fret, smoked salmon vodka lovers, despite market softness, flavored vodka varieties and volumes continue to proliferate. [The Spirits Business]
