Jon Bonné Joins PUNCH as Senior Contributing Editor

Jon Bonne wine writer

Ladies and gentleman, after a year and a half spent covering the world of drinks and drink culture with a small staff and a crack team of contributors, we’re thrilled to announce the expansion of the PUNCH masthead. Effective May 1, Jon Bonné will be joining PUNCH as Senior Contributing Editor, authoring a semimonthly column on wine and wine culture.

Jon has spent the last eight years as the Wine Editor of the San Francisco Chronicle, where his work covering wine and spirits has earned him numerous accolades, including two James Beard Awards. He is also the author of the critically acclaimed The New California Wine (Ten Speed Press), a guide to the state’s new avant-garde, and—we’re excited to announce—the forthcoming The New French Wine (Ten Speed Press), a definitive guide to contemporary French wines and producers.

Jon’s journalism career spans two decades, and includes beats from national politics to television. Before landing at the Chronicle, he was the lifestyle editor and wine columnist for MSNBC, and has written about wine for Saveur, Food & Wine, The Art of Eating and many more. Jon’s knowledge and diverse journalistic background have earned him a reputation as not only one of the country’s leading critics, but also one of our very best narrative wine writers.

We’re honored to welcome him into the PUNCH family and can’t wait to share all of the trouble we get into with the rest of you. In the meantime, you can find Jon on Twitter at @jbonne, Instagram at @jbonne and Delectable at jbonne.
