A release from Golden Cadillac’s press team announced today that the 1970s-themed bar will close its doors this Thursday July 3rd: “Greg Boehm and James Tune, Beverage Director Don Lee and Executive Chef Miguel Trinidad will hang up their polyester suits, turn off the ‘70s soundtracks, and sip their last Tequila Sunrise as they close the doors on Golden Cadillac Food & Drink.”
The statement also reveals that the Lower East Side space will be home to a new bar and dining concept opening in August. The announcement comes after less than a year of business during which partner Giuseppe Gonzalez departed suddenly soon after opening. Following his exit, Don Lee, formerly of PDT and the Momofuku Group took over as beverage director.
Here’s to moving on to a new decade. Au revoir Golden Cadillac. It’s been groovy.
