Skip the Museum, Head to the Museum Bar

If you’re feeling your Sunday Funday routine is getting stale, it’s worth considering museum bars as an alternative to bottomless brunch. Liquor.com shares its list of top museum bars across the country suggesting a stop by Proof on Main at hotel-gallery 21c in Louisville, KY or the Bar Room at the Museum of Modern Art. The Bar Room’s South by Southwest—tequila, hibiscus syrup, lime, and mint—can only enhance the experience of viewing Jackson Pollock’s drip paintings or Van Gogh’s Starry Night. We would add MoMA P.S. 1’s restaurant M. Wells Dinette to the list as the canteen always seems to have the perfect rosé primer for a Friday afternoon stroll through the galleries, and with the Whitney Biennial upon us, a glass or two of American wine at the institution’s restaurant, Untitled, would also seem in order.
