The Most Bizarre Bar Rules

Sometimes too much freedom can be overwhelming, especially when booze is involved. CNN’s Eatocracy documents a handful of bars across the U.S. (plus one in London) that bring balance to boundary-seeking patrons ranging from reasonable limitations to weird rewards systems. Most of the rules surround cell phone use and age restrictions but some bars get extra serious. At Hop Sing Laundromat in Philly, picture-taking is strictly prohibited, and as Yelper Steve T. reports, “wearing a paper bag on one’s head is also not allowed.” Slipped in with the stodgy rules are also silly games. At Thomas Foolery in D.C., “If you play hopscotch and buy something for 30 days in a row, you can pick a beer for the menu and get menu credit.”  [Eatocracy]
