Technically, this is a sour, not a Gimlet, explains Alba Huerta. But it’s still bracing and citrusy, and beats versions made with Rose’s Sweetened Lime Juice. Besides, “In Texas, if you ask for a Gimlet you get something with fresh lime juice,” she notes.

Ingredients

Serving: 1

  • 2 ounces Old Tom gin, preferably Hayman's
  • 2 ounces Old Tom gin, preferably Hayman's
  • 1 ounce lime juice
  • 1 ounce lime juice
  • 1/2 ounce simple syrup
  • 1/2 ounce simple syrup

Directions
  1. Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice and shake until chilled.
  2. Strain into a chilled coupe.
