Angostura Sour

Angostura Bitters Winter Sour Cocktail Recipe

A riff on a Charles H. Baker cocktail, Kirk Estopinal’s Angostura Sour is unorthodox in its use of Angostura bitters as a base spirit. Because bitters are high-proof by nature, the Ango Sour is strong as any cocktail with a typical spirit base, but aromatically astringent and curiously pleasant when smoothed together with a citrus-sugar-egg white backbone. Deep, dark crimson the Angostura Sour is truly a cocktail whose sum is much greater than its parts.
