Appennini Spritz

Adam Bernbach | Washington, D.C.

Admittedly obsessed with the luscious, bitter allure of Barolo Chinato, Adam Bernbach saw an opportunity to introduce the quinine-fortified wine to the classic Negroni Sbagliato template. Here, he switches the traditional sweet vermouth element for Cocchi’s Barolo Chinato and matches it to the wine-based red bitter Cappelletti. The cocktail borrows its name from the chain of mountains that run the length of peninsular Italy, the Appenines.

Serving: 1

  • 1 ounce Cocchi Barolo Chinato
  • 1 ounce Cappelletti
  • 2 ounces cava (if substituting prosecco, add 1/2 ounce lemon juice)
