Coming in third in our recent blind Ti’ Punch tasting, Austin Hartman’s version comprises a mix of one-and-a-half ounces Rhum J.M 110-proof (the highest proof spirit in the tasting), a half-ounce of Sirop J.M and a lime disk.
- 1 1/2 ounces Rhum J.M 110-proof
- 1/2 ounce Sirop J.M
- 1 lime disk (see Editor's Note)
- Add the lime disk, skin-side facing down, into a rocks glass, then add the syrup and rhum.
- Place a swizzle stick atop the lime disk and swizzle the punch until the oils, rhum and syrup have blended (about 6 to 8 seconds).
For the lime disk, Hartman recommends cutting a piece of the lime that is partially skin and includes a little bit of pulp, too. Don't cut directly down the side as it will include too much pulp. Take the blade from the top and follow the shape of the lime down.
