Frozen Banana Daiquiri Recipe

In her classic Daiquiri riff, Julie Reiner plays up the ripe flavors of fresh banana with Giffard Banane du Brésil and a two-rum blend, plus lime juice and demerara syrup.

Ingredients

  • 1 ounce Jamaican rum, preferably Plantation
  • 1 ounce Jamaican rum, preferably Plantation
  • 1 ounce white rum, preferably Plantation 3 Star
  • 1 ounce white rum, preferably Plantation 3 Star
  • 1 ounce banana liqueur, preferably Giffard Banane du Brésil
  • 1 ounce banana liqueur, preferably Giffard Banane du Brésil
  • 1/2 ounce demerara syrup (1:1, sugar:water)
  • 1/2 ounce demerara syrup (1:1, sugar:water)
  • 1/2 ounce lime juice
  • 1/2 ounce lime juice
  • 1 banana
  • 1 banana
  • 1 1/2 cups crushed ice
  • 1 1/2 cups crushed ice

Garnish: lime wheel, umbrella

Directions
  1. Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.
  2. Pour into a Hurricane glass.
  3. Garnish with a lime wheel and cocktail umbrella.
