Génépy Suisse

Ryan Maybee, Manifesto |Kansas City, MO

In the Génépy Suisse, Ryan Maybee doubles down on winter drinking, incorporating pine-scented herbal liqueur génépy into a riff on the classic Absinthe Suisse cocktail. “The sweeter qualities of the cacao and coffee blend beautifully with absinthe, and work equally well with génépy,” he says.

Génépy Suisse see the original Suisse’s crème de menthe swapped for creme de cacao, plus the addition of coffee liqueur, heavy cream and a garnish of grated nutmeg—all which results in essentially an elevated, adult mocha.
