Jeffrey Morgenthaler’s Mint Julep

Jeffrey Morgenthaler, Clyde Common | Portland, OR

Mint Julep

Jeffrey Morgenthaler favors simplicity, of both ingredients and execution, in his julep recipe. Morgenthaler’s rendition, which took first place in our recent blind tasting, calls on ten muddled mint leaves, rich simple syrup and Woodford Reserve bourbon. The judges found the drink perfectly balanced with one taster deeming it highly “re-orderable.”
