Jen Akin’s Ti’ Punch

The winning drink in our recent blind Ti’ Punch tasting came from Jen Akin of Rumba. Her version consists of half a barspoon of Sirop J.M (a brand of bottled cane syrup from Martinique), a small lime coin and two ounces of Rhum J.M Blanc 100-proof. The judges loved the body and strong flavors of the drink. “This tastes correct,” said Kate Perry, a former Rumba bartender and the US market manager for La Maison & Velier.

Ingredients
  • 1/2 barspoon Sirop J.M
  • 1/2 barspoon Sirop J.M
  • 1 small lime coin
  • 1 small lime coin
  • 2 ounces rhum agricole, preferably Rhum J.M Blanc 100-proof
  • 2 ounces rhum agricole, preferably Rhum J.M Blanc 100-proof

Directions
  1. In a rocks glass, add the lime, then syrup, then the rhum.
  2. Swizzle and serve.
