Jeremy Oertel’s Margarita

In our recent blind tasting of Margaritas, Jeremy Oertel’s recipe secured itself a spot in the top three. In this quintessential take on the cocktail, Oertel calls for El Tesoro Blanco as the tequila base, and a traditional mix of Cointreau and lime juice, tied together with a salt rim.


Serving: 1

  • 2 ounces tequila, preferably El Tesoro Blanco
  • 1 ounce Cointreau
  • 3/4 ounce lime juice

Garnish: salt rim, lime wedge

  1. Rim a rocks glass with salt and set aside.
  2. Combine all ingredients in a mixing tin and shake with ice.
  3. Strain into the rocks glass over ice.
