Joggling Board

joggling board cocktail recipe greg best

Atlanta bartender Greg Best created this drink in honor of an event with Garden & Gun, a Southern lifestyle and culture magazine. With a base of white rum, the Joggling Board is dressed up riff on the Daiquiri and named for a piece of furniture hailing from South Carolina’s Lowcountry. A joggling board is an extra-long bench grounded with rocking chair-style skiffs so it flexes and bounces, or “joggles” its sitters as they rock.

With its layers of citrus and savory seasonings, “This drink is evocative of hanging out in Charleston,” says Best. “It’s fun, but complex. Charleston can appear to be glitzy and college-y from the outside, but once you start digging, you find beautiful architecture and interesting history.”
