Coming in second in our blind Paloma tasting, Josh Goldman, of Bar Caló in Los Angeles, poured Squirt over 2 ounces of Siembra Azul tequila, 1/2 ounce lime juice and a pinch of sea salt—all built in the glass. The panel liked the drink for its traditional, stand-up profile.

Ingredients

Serving: 1

  • 2 ounces blanco tequila, preferably Siembra Azul
  • 2 ounces blanco tequila, preferably Siembra Azul
  • 1/2 ounce lime juice
  • 1/2 ounce lime juice
  • 1 pinch sea salt
  • 1 pinch sea salt
  • Squirt, to top
  • Squirt, to top

Garnish: grapefruit wedge

Directions
  1. Add the tequila, lime juice and a pinch of salt into a Collins glass over ice.
  2. Top with Squirt.
  3. Garnish with a thick wedge of grapefruit.
