The ingredients of the Mezcaletti are telegraphed in the name: mezcal and Amaro Meletti, built in a rocks glass over ice. Strong, nutty and buttery, the drink—which is also on the menu at Brooklyn’s Fresh Kills—has a surprising amount of depth for such a simple drink.

Ingredients

Serving: 1

  • 1 ounce mezcal
  • 1 ounce mezcal
  • 1 ounce Amaro Meletti
  • 1 ounce Amaro Meletti
  • 2 dashes orange bitters
  • 2 dashes orange bitters

Garnish: lemon twist

Directions
  1. Build in a rocks glass over a large cube.
  2. Gently stir ten to fifteen times.
  3. Garnish with a lemon twist.
