Minty Blend

A housemade sachet can be used to infuse both hot and cold drinks. Here, Maxime Belfand, bar director for AvroKO, offers his Minty Blend, made with green tea and spices, which works well in bourbon- or rye-based drinks.

Ingredients

Yield: 1 sachet

  • 1/2 teaspoon dried mint
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried mint
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried spearmint
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried spearmint
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried peppermint
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried peppermint
  • 1/2 teaspoon green tea
  • 1/2 teaspoon green tea
  • 1 clove
  • 1 clove
  • 1 star anise pod (optional)
  • 1 star anise pod (optional)

Directions
  1. Place all ingredients in a tea bag or square of cheesecloth and close.
