Not quite a riff on the Negroni, the Shakerato is simply a different treatment of the Negroni. Where the three-ingredient drink is a stirred cocktail, without exception, this version takes Campari, sweet vermouth and gin, and shakes them into an icy, pink froth. It’s then further turned on its head with the addition of a Castelvetrano olive garnish—a nod to the Italian Futurist art movement, which was often less about ingredients and more about expectations—or rather, the unexpected.
