To create her “perfect” cocktail, Ivy Mix used palo cortado sherry as the centerpiece of the drink, and surrounded it with ingredients that would harmonize. After countless variations, this balanced ratio of black strap rum, reposado tequila and Grand Marnier ended up working together with the sherry. “The harmonious strength of this drink was the hardest to come by,” says Mix. “But it was also the most rewarding.”
