Kristy Bevis of Odette combines reposado tequila with Giffard Banane du Brésil and cinnamon syrup for a dessert-like spin on the Margarita.

Ingredients

Serving: 1

  • 1 1/2 ounces reposado tequila, preferably El Jimador
  • 1 1/2 ounces reposado tequila, preferably El Jimador
  • 1 ounce banana liqueur, preferably Giffard Banana du Brésil
  • 1 ounce banana liqueur, preferably Giffard Banana du Brésil
  • 1/4 ounce lime juice
  • 1/4 ounce lime juice
  • 1/4 ounce cinnamon syrup (see Editor's Note)
  • 1/4 ounce cinnamon syrup (see Editor's Note)

Garnish: lime wheel

Directions
  1. Combine all ingredients in a mixing tin and shake with cracked ice.
  2. Strain into a coupe.
  3. Garnish with a lime wheel.

Cinnamon Syrup:
2 cups water
6 cinnamon sticks
1 1/2 cups sugar

Combine all ingredients in a saucepan over heat and bring to a boil. Simmer for 10 minutes then let cool before straining out the solids.
