Pink Chihuahua

Named for the drink’s pink color, this highball from Sips in Barcelona draws inspiration from both Sherry Cobblers and sangria. The wine, the interplay of citrus and sugar, and lengthener—here a blood orange soda—pays homage to similar components in the classics.

Ingredients

Serving: 1

  • 2/3 ounce gin, preferably Canaïma
  • 2/3 ounce gin, preferably Canaïma
  • 2/3 ounce orange-infused gin (see Editor’s Note)
  • 2/3 ounce orange-infused gin (see Editor’s Note)
  • heavy 3/4 ounce dry sherry
  • heavy 3/4 ounce dry sherry
  • blood orange soda, to top
  • blood orange soda, to top

Garnish: grated lime zest

Directions
  1. Build all ingredients in a highball glass over ice.
  2. Garnish with grated lime zest.
