At a recent blind tasting of Cosmopolitans, Sarah Morrisey’s version took first place. The combination of 1 ½ ounces of Stolichnaya lemon vodka, 1 ounce Ocean Spray Cranberry Juice Cocktail, ¾ ounce Cointreau, and ½ ounce lime juice, finished off with an orange twist (discarded) and a lime wedge was a standout.

Ingredients

Serving: 1

  • 1/2 ounce lime juice
  • 1/2 ounce lime juice
  • 1 ounce cranberry juice
  • 1 ounce cranberry juice
  • 3/4 ounce Cointreau 
  • 3/4 ounce Cointreau 
  • 1 1/2 ounce lemon vodka, preferably Stolichnaya Citron
  • 1 1/2 ounce lemon vodka, preferably Stolichnaya Citron

Garnish: orange peel, lime wedge

Directions
  1. Combine all ingredients in a mixing tin and shake with ice.
  2. Strain into a chilled couple.
  3. Express the orange peel and discard.
  4. Garnish with lime wedge.
