Show Me State

show me state mezcal frozen cocktail 151 nyc

Robert Sachse’s Show Me State started as a riff on the Jungle Bird before getting transformed almost entirely: orange juice replaced pineapple juice, Campari was exchanged for mezcal and dry curacao replaced the blackstrap rum, turning the Show Me State into a citrus-driven, smoky cocktail all its own.

“Guests will always look around and get lost in how many bottles in the bar they don’t recognize, or how many ingredients in the cocktail list they’ve never heard of before,” says Sachse. “That doesn’t happen with frozen drinks. They’ll see the slushy machine, the malt mixer, the blender and point and say to give them ‘whatever comes out of that.’”

Special thanks to our friends at West Elm for outfitting our frozen drinks photoshoot.
