The Slope Manhattan Cocktail Recipe

Julie Reiner developed The Slope as the house Manhattan at her Brooklyn bar, Clover Club. The recipe calls for Punt e Mes cut with a quarter-ounce of apricot liqueur, a signature ingredient in several of Reiner’s modern classics, including the Gin Blossom.

Ingredients

Serving: 1

  • 2 1/2 ounces rye
  • 2 1/2 ounces rye
  • 3/4 ounce Punt e Mes
  • 3/4 ounce Punt e Mes
  • 1/4 ounce apricot liqueur, preferably Rothman & Winter Orchard Apricot
  • 1/4 ounce apricot liqueur, preferably Rothman & Winter Orchard Apricot
  • 1 dash Angostura bitters
  • 1 dash Angostura bitters

Directions
  1. Combine all ingredients in a mixing glass with ice and stir until chilled.
  2. Strain into a cocktail glass.
