Turmeric Blend

This housemade sachet blend can be used to infuse both hot and cold drinks. Steep this gently spiced sachet in hot milk for three minutes to create a “golden milk”-style drink, which can be mixed with aged rum and honey. The blend works equally well in cold drinks.

Ingredients

Yield: 1 sachet

  • 1 teaspoon dried turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon dried turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon dried ginger
  • 1 teaspoon dried ginger
  • 2 cardamom pods, crushed (or 2 pinches of cardamom powder)
  • 2 cardamom pods, crushed (or 2 pinches of cardamom powder)
  • 1/2 teaspoon coriander seeds (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon coriander seeds (optional)
  • 2 black peppercorns, crushed
  • 2 black peppercorns, crushed
  • 1 teaspoon chai tea
  • 1 teaspoon chai tea

Directions
  1. Place all ingredients in a tea bag or square of cheesecloth and close.
