The Varnish’s Vesper

Served at the Varnish in Los Angeles, Eric Alperin’s Vesper took third place in our blind tasting of Vesper recipes. Made with both vodka and gin, like the classic, this version also incorporates Cocchi Americano.

Ingredients

Serving: 1

  • 1/2 ounce Cocchi Americano
  • 1/2 ounce Cocchi Americano
  • 1/2 ounce vodka, preferably Nat Kidder Navy Strength Vodka or Haku Vodka
  • 1/2 ounce vodka, preferably Nat Kidder Navy Strength Vodka or Haku Vodka
  • 2 ounces gin, preferably Fords Gin
  • 2 ounces gin, preferably Fords Gin

Garnish: lemon twist

Directions
  1. Add all ingredients to a mixing glass and stir with ice.
  2. Strain into a glass.
  3. Garnish with a lemon twist.
