Hidden on the upstairs floor of a Japanese restaurant, Village Yokocho, Angel’s Share can be found through a door in the back of the room. Though an undisputed pioneer within the New York cocktail scene, Angel’s Share has never been shouty about its art. In this quiet shrine to the cocktail, Japanese bartenders quietly build drinks (don’t expect to make conversation with them), many of which lean classic and spare. It should be known, this is a bar with rules—and not the tongue-in-cheek kind.
