From its location on a residential street in Kreuzberg to the careless rec-room vibe of its smoky interior, BKK is the kind of neighborhood bar where you might go to watch the Bundesliga (the major German soccer league) on a Sunday afternoon, if you happened to live down the block. The fact that it also has some of the best and most interesting locally brewed ales in Berlin seems almost an afterthought. But between their taps—which feature traditional beers alongside IPAs and seasonal brews—and a small selection of craft bottles brewed by Kreuzberg’s own Schoppe Bräu, BKK appeals as much to the local crowd as it does to the beer drinkers scavenging Berlin for the flavor of hops.

What to drink
Try the Kreuzberg Pale Ale (XPA). For something a bit more out of the ordinary, the Roggen Roll (bottle only) is brewed with rye.

ProTip
The room next to the bar has a projection screen and they frequently show German and international soccer matches, so if you want to drink something decent while watching the match, BKK is the place to go. They also sell draught beer by the pitcher, which is a rarity in Berlin.
