This Williamsburg stronghold was one of the restaurants that put the neighborhood on the map before Urban Outfitters and Dunkin’ Donuts arrived. It still churns out beautiful food to match the beautiful crowd that hangs out all day drinking espresso and Mimosas (which leads one to ask, “Do these people have jobs?”), and, despite the hipster staff, the service is decidedly sweet and attentive. Most weekends, the line snakes out the door, but the marble-top bar almost always has a seat available. While most people come here for the stacks of cartoon-perfect pancakes and chopped kale salad, take a seat and order a Sazerac or a glass of crisp white wine and watch the locals/tourists fight for a seat.
