Masa Azul isn’t just a good spot for tequila in Chicago; it’s got one of the most thoughtful agave spirits selections in the country. A hidden gem in the less-traveled area of Logan Square, owner Jason Lerner oversees a collection of south-of-the-border spirits that includes everything from tequila and mezcal to sotol (a spirit distilled from a Mexican desert plant) and bacanora (mezcal produced in the Mexican state of Sonora). The cocktails are always a solid representation of how beautifully agave spirits shape-shift when mixed.
