In the Chambers Hotel, perched above the dining room of the stateliest of David Chang’s Momofuku restaurants, the bar at Ma Pêche is a quirky, comfortable eagles’ nest with access to the full restaurant menu. The beer and sake lists are impeccably composed, while the cocktails are idiosyncratic, mostly refreshing takes on classics. The wine list, which was recently reimagined by Momofuku beverage director Jordan Salcito, has turned it into a bona fide wine destination as well. While the list provides ample temptation on the high-end, particularly in Burgundy, the list is also value-conscious, offering a front section of 56 wines, all priced at $56. Bonus (or beware): An outpost of Milk Bar sits directly outside the bar, forcing willpower-impaired drinkers to pass by treats like cereal milk soft serve and candy bar pie on their way out.

ProTip
Happy hour (4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.) is one of the best deals in Midtown, where $5 gets you a Tiger beer, Seven Spice Sour or a two-ounce pour of the spirit of the day (neat, on the rocks, as a Sour or in an Old-Fashioned). The calendar of spirits is thoughtfully listed on the website.
