As part of the opening staff at New York's acclaimed cocktail bar Death & Co., Joaquín Simó put his English major to good use regaling customers with the stories and history of classic spirits and cocktails. He served as deputy editor for the 2009 and 2010 Food & Wine cocktail books; opened New York’s Pouring Ribbons in 2012; and, that same year, was named American Bartender of the Year by the Spirited Awards. He is currently a partner in Alchemy Consulting, working with such clients as Diageo, Pernod Ricard and various hotel groups.
