One of many twists on the Last Word from New York bartender Phil Ward, this cocktail keeps the equal-parts build of the original, but exchanges the gin base for rye whiskey.

Ingredients

Serving: 1

  • 3/4 ounce rye whiskey
  • 3/4 ounce rye whiskey
  • 3/4 ounce green Chartreuse
  • 3/4 ounce green Chartreuse
  • 3/4 ounce maraschino liqueur
  • 3/4 ounce maraschino liqueur
  • 3/4 ounce lemon juice
  • 3/4 ounce lemon juice

Directions
  1. Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker.
  2. Add ice and shake until chilled.
  3. Strain into a chilled coupe or cocktail glass.
