Café La Trova’s Banana Daiquiri

Just two coffee beans in the blender—a technique learned from late bartender John Lermayer—adds balance and a hint of coffee flavor to this banana Daiquiri.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 ripe banana
  • 1/2 ripe banana
  • 1 1/2 ounces white rum
  • 1 1/2 ounces white rum
  • 3/4 ounce banana liqueur, preferably Tempus Fugit Crème de Banane
  • 3/4 ounce banana liqueur, preferably Tempus Fugit Crème de Banane
  • 1/2 ounce lime juice
  • 1/2 ounce lime juice
  • 1/4 ounce simple syrup
  • 1/4 ounce simple syrup
  • 2 whole coffee beans
  • 2 whole coffee beans

Garnish: two straws

Directions
  1. Blend all ingredients with crushed ice for 15 seconds.
  2. Pour into an 8 1/2-ounce coupe glass.
  3. Serve with two straws.
