A classic Old-Fashioned is sugar, water, spirit and bitters. “It’s my contention that Jägermeister already contains all of these components,” Teague says. “It’s basically a self-contained Old-Fashioned.” The Black Apple Old-Fashioned simply ups the spirit and bitters quotient by adding apple brandy and apple bitters. “The fruit notes and the ginger-cinnamon” present in Jägermeister “pair real well with the apple brandy,” he adds. “Who wouldn’t like apple pie with ginger and cinnamon in it?”
