Blood Orange Reduction

This jewel-colored winter citrus reduction is one part of the Bitter Handshake, a cocktail by Andrew Bohrer from Brad Thomas Parsons’ book, Bitters.

Yield: approximately 2/3 cup

  • 1 cup blood orange juice
  • 1 cup blood orange juice

  1. In a small saucepan, bring the blood orange juice to a boil over medium-high heat.
  2. Boil until reduced by a third.
  3. Remove from heat and let cool.
