Eremita

Jocássia Coelho | Belo Horizonte, Brazil

At Ofélia, a cocktail bar in Brazil’s Belo Horizonte, guests can order by selecting one of 22 tarot cards, each representing a signature drink. If the Eremita card is selected, the corresponding drink is a high-end version of Xeque Mate, a popular Brazilian drink that features rum, iced yerba mate tea and guaraná soda. “It has already become the city’s flagship libation, and we decided to pay homage to it in our own way,” explains Bruce Moreira, the bar’s creative director. This is Ofélia’s contemporary spin on the democratic drink.
