LCD Soundsystem’s Espresso Martini

LCD Soundsystem's cold weather fix.

While touring around the world, LCD Soundsystem traveled with their own espresso machine, which was often co-opted for cocktail hour. “The other guys in the band were better at making these than me,” says former bandmate Nancy Whang. “But it’s basically a network TV version of a speedball.”

Ingredients

Serving: 1

  • 2 ounces vodka
  • 2 ounces vodka
  • 1 ounce espresso, cooled
  • 1 ounce espresso, cooled
  • 1/2 ounce brown sugar syrup (a PUNCH improvement— 1:1, brown sugar:water)
  • 1/2 ounce brown sugar syrup (a PUNCH improvement— 1:1, brown sugar:water)

Directions
  1. Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker.
  2. Add ice and shake until chilled.
  3. Strain into a chilled coupe or cocktail glass.
