Nancy Whang’s Pimm’s Cup

Adapted from Nancy Whang | New York City

While on the road, LCD Soundsystem was always prepared with a mobile bar perpetually stocked with Champagne and Jameson. In the warm months, Pimm’s Cups were a band staple. “I can’t remember where I had my first Pimm’s Cup, but I remember liking it so much I bought a few bottles from duty free on my way home and spent the rest of the summer drinking them,” says former member Nancy Whang. “Then LCD went on tour in the UK and made sure we had all the ingredients on our rider. It took me a while to figure out that when the British say ‘lemonade’ they mean ‘7UP.’ I had been making them with American-style lemonade the whole time and I think it’s better that way. If you can’t find lemonade, try ginger beer before you reach for the 7UP, because who drinks 7UP?”

This recipe can be easily modified to be a pitcher-cocktail. Simply multiply the ingredients times the number of servings desired.
